Governance
The membership of Snowsport Cymru Wales elect a board of directors at its AGM to govern the development of the sport. These directors carry out their duties as volunteers and are asked to take on specific responsibilities.

Membership Insurance
All Snowsport Cymru Wales membership includes liability insurance. It protects you if you are held responsible and are negligent for causing injury to a third party or have caused damage to a third party’s property.

DBS Checking Service
Snowsport Cymru Wales is able to process standard, enhanced and enhanced with barred list(s) DBS checks for its members. For SSW volunteers there is NO CHARGE for this service.

Adaptive Snowsport
We work closely with our member clubs throughout Wales to deliver opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in snowsport activities and develop their skills.

Schools Snowsports
With a number of artificial slopes throughout Wales there’s plenty of opportunities for school children to get involved in snowsports and develop their skills to very high levels.

Ski & Border Cross
Taking place on snow only, ski cross and snowboard cross feature banked turns, rollers and jumps, as well as the excitement of four racers competing at once.

Nordic Skiing
With a fixed toe and a free heel, Nordic skiing takes in everything from Cross Country and Telemark to Biathlon and Ski Jumping.

Park & Pipe is an exciting new focus area for Snowsport Wales. We are developing a structured freestyle pathway through domestic and eventually alpine camps, alongside dedicated competitions. The aim is to create clear progression and greater opportunity for athletes pursuing the freestyle side of the sport in Wales.

Welsh Alpine Championships
Our annual Welsh Alpine Championships are held in Champéry, Switzerland. There are five days of racing for both GBR competitors and FIS licence holders, plus training facilities in the resort before the Championships.

Disability Snowsports

Snowsport Cymru Wales works closely with our member clubs throughout Wales to deliver opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in snowsport activities and develop their skills. See our clubs below.

There are great opportunities for committed disabled athletes to pursue their sport to the highest levels of competitive skiing and snowboarding. For further information on how to get involved with competitive disabled skiing and snowboarding, contact us directly by email membership@snowsportwales.com

ADAPTIVE SNOWSPORT CLUBS

Snowsport Cymru Wales works with a number of clubs and centres across Wales to provide a provision for adaptive (disabled) snowsports.

In North Wales, Disability Skiing Wales meet at Ski Llandudno. They have trained volunteers who use specialist equipment where necessary to bring snowsports all.

In West Wales, Ski 4 All Wales and Ice Cool Kids meet at Pembrey Ski Slope. Ski 4 All Wales enable adults with physical, neurological or visual deficit to ski. Ice Cool Kids provides opportunities for children and young adults to participate in skiing in Wales and abroad.

Please contact the clubs directly to discuss your specific requirements before attending one of their sessions.

We also work closely with partners across Great Britain to provide performance pathway links for athlete development as well as coach, instructor and guide training opportunities.
