Welsh Alpine Championships
Welsh Alpine Championships 2022 – Champery, Switzerland’s gateway to the Portes du Soleil ski region
The 2022 Championships consist of three days of competition with training facilities made available to clubs in resort in the build up to the championships. Sadly for 2022 we will not be able to run the FIS-CIT races, but will revert to these again in 2023. The three days of competition are designated as our Welsh Alpine Championship days, these races are eligible for competitors registered with their home nation (or holding international licences for non GB competitors). Competitors in these races will fall into two main categories U10/U12 and U14 and older as specific races are run to suit the ages of the competitors.
Race Programme 2022
Due to uncertainties caused by the pandemic, the organising committee in partnership with the Regions Dents du Midi took the decision earlier this season to postpone the Welsh Alpine Championships until the end of March 2022 (event previously scheduled for January 2022).
We are now pleased to announce that with an improving relaxation of travel restrictions, the Welsh Championships programme is now confirmed and online entry to the events is now open.
The revised programme for 2022 is now as follows;
Wednesday 30th March 2022 – U10/U12 Giant Slalom
Thursday 31st March 2022 – BASS Giant Slalom
Friday 1st April 2022 – BASS Slalom & U10/U12 Slalom
Entry to Events
Three days of competitions will be organised for skiers from U10/U12 Category through to Masters. GBR competitors must be registered with their Home Nation (Snowsport Wales/England/Scotland), non GBR competitors must provide proof of national licence along with proof of insurance to compete.
Online entry to events is now live and can be made online at the link below
Please be reminded that your registration as a competitor with your Home Nation must be valid for 2022 to enter the competitions or to complete entry online.
