The DBS also offer an Update Service subscription and this allows applicants to keep their DBS certificates up to date and allows employers to check an applicant’s certificate. You have 30 days from the date your certificate is issued to register for this service. There is no charge for members in volunteer roles for this, however the DBS directly charge individuals in paid roles an annual fee, currently £16. We can accept DBS certificates processed by other organisations, provided the update service subscription is active for the certificate and the certificate is at the correct level. Please contact the office for advice on this.
Identity Documents (IDs) can be verified in person at the office in Cardiff by appointment or through the in-branch Post Office verifiction service.

SSW is also able to process DBS checks for non SSW members in snowsport roles*. The costs for these are set out below, please contact the SSW Office to discuss your requirements in the first instance.

Snowsport Cymru Wales uses the Welsh Sports Association (WSA) DBS Checking Service for Sport & Leisure. The service is run through the WSA’s trading arm Vibrant Nation, and provides bilingual, online DBS checks (Disclosure and Barring Service, formally CRB). The WSA is the only provider of a fully bilingual system and serve in Wales, and offer a free DBS bilingual helpline.
Please complete the following details to initiate a DBS Application through Snowsport Cymru Wales. This information will be used to determine the correct level of disclosure and if any fees are payable due the role you hold in the sport. You will then be emailed a DBS login (from Vibrant Nation – a trading arm of the Welsh Sports Association). Using this login, you will be able to enter all your personal details.
