Governance

Membership Insurance
All Snowsport Cymru Wales membership includes liability insurance. It protects you if you are held responsible and are negligent for causing injury to a third party or have caused damage to a third party’s property.

DBS Checking Service
Snowsport Cymru Wales is able to process standard, enhanced and enhanced with barred list(s) DBS checks for its members. For SSW volunteers there is NO CHARGE for this service.

Adaptive Snowsport
We work closely with our member clubs throughout Wales to deliver opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in snowsport activities and develop their skills.

With a number of artificial slopes throughout Wales there’s plenty of opportunities for school children to get involved in snowsports and develop their skills to very high levels.

Ski & Border Cross
Taking place on snow only, ski cross and snowboard cross feature banked turns, rollers and jumps, as well as the excitement of four racers competing at once.

Park & Pipe is an exciting new focus area for Snowsport Wales. We are developing a structured freestyle pathway through domestic and eventually alpine camps, alongside dedicated competitions. The aim is to create clear progression and greater opportunity for athletes pursuing the freestyle side of the sport in Wales.

Welsh Alpine Championships
Our annual Welsh Alpine Championships are held in Champéry, Switzerland. There are five days of racing for both GBR competitors and FIS licence holders, plus training facilities in the resort before the Championships.

North Wales Ski Club

A club for all snowsport lovers based in the North Wales area, or within reach. For intermediates through to advanced and extreme. Young through to not so young! Coaching, social events & club trips, all happen!

Membership Fees

Season 2020-21 sessions

Tuesdays:

6 – 7.30pm Recreational Ski & Snowboard session

(open to all, ability level must be able to – turn, stop, control direction & speed, and use the lift at least to the middle of the slope)

Wednesdays:

6 – 8pm Flyers ski race training session

(by invite or approval only)

Sundays:

4 – 6pm Sunday Sessions

(open to all interested in improving their ability and / or have a go at a bit of racing, ability level must be able to – turn, stop, control direction & speed, and use the lift to the top of the slope)

Slopestyle Sessions:

Occasional Ski & Snowboard jam sessions in association with Boobytrap. Follow the page for updates on the next session.

More Sessions will be added in due course, pending the gradual lifting of Covid restrictions, or otherwise.
