The Welsh Schools Skiing Championships were held 8/9th October at Llangrannog, West Wales. With the races spread over the two days (Primary Schools races Saturday and Secondary on the Sunday), the atmosphere was relaxed but the competition was intense!
Over 140 competitors from across Wales took part in the two days of ski racing. This was a fantastic experience for those new to the sport as well as a great event for our top young skiers pushing for national school champion titles.
In the Primary Schools event Usk CiW Primary Team were clear winners with a very strong team of skiers (that training at PSR, proving successful again!). The individual winner in the girls event was Lotti Williams from Usk CiW Primary, and in the boys event the overall winner was Tomos Woolard from Llanfoist and Llanvihangel Primary.
The Secondary Schools event the team winners in the girls races were Crickhowell High School with Erin Higgins from Crickhowell High School taking the individual trophy. In the boys races the winning team was St Davids College with Steffan Hodson from St Michaels School taking the individual trophy.
Our top 6 girls team and top 5 boys teams now go on to compete in the British Schools Championships being held 26/27th November 2022 at Stoke.
